LEADERS IN IoT CONSTRUCTION AND IoT INFRASTRUCTURE
BACKGROUND

Natural Disasters
A recent report by the UN, “The Human Cost of Weather Related Disasters”, reveals that in the last 20 years, 157,000 people have died as a result of floods. The report also says that between 1995 and 2015, floods affected 2.3 billion people, which accounts for 56% of all those affected by weather-related disasters – considerably more than any other type of weather-related disaster. more detail

Natural Disasters Report
The data presented here includes all categories classified as "natural disasters" (distinguished from technological disasters, such as oil spills and industrial accidents). This includes those from drought, floods, extreme weather, extreme temperature, landslides, dry mass movements, wildfires, volcanic activity and earthquakes. more detail

Available Technologies
Valarm - water quality monitoring system mainly used for industrial use and weather monitoring system
Storm Watch - (Kansas 2009) precipitation, precipitation differential and water level stream monitor inside the city
Automated Image Recognition Technology for Water Level Monitoring + On Road Flood Sensor - Water Resource Agency

Overview
The River Monitor is an IoT system used for monitoring the status of the river, specifically, the water level, turbidity and speed. Though these information, the system could be an early warning to near-by low lying areas of coming floods or a monitoring system for water quality in smart cities. Once a device is placed upstream some distance along the river, monitoring can be done through the our Wix platform.
